Into the Outdoors, Wisconsin Coastal Management, and Wisconsin Department of Administration Present New Episode, ‘Mapping the Mysteries: Great Lake Careers,’ airing November 8th
Madison, WISCONSIN – (November 14, 2025) – Into the Outdoors, an Emmy® award-winning kids’ edutainment series that leads in outdoor and science education both nationally and internationally, launches a new episode to spotlight Great Lakes careers, which aired on November 8th.
This educational episode invites families and young viewers to join Diane, Jack, and Terry as they explore real careers around the Great Lakes—from the harbors of Sheboygan, Port Washington, Manitowoc, and Two Rivers to the research labs of Superior. Designed to spark curiosity and engage learners, the episode presents real-world insights and practical lessons from Great Lakes professionals who study, protect, and work on the water every day.
Produced in partnership with the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program and Wisconsin Department of Administration, “Mapping the Mysteries: Great Lake Careers” highlights how careers in biology, chemistry, technology, conservation, public safety, and more can intersect. The episode gives kids and families an inside look at real careers across the Great Lakes, inspiring them to look deeper into the water, the work, and the possibilities ahead.
Beyond touring career paths, the episode spotlights the real-world work that keeps the Great Lakes thriving, including monitoring conditions and protecting ecosystems from invasive species, sediment transport, and storm events. With engaging characters and accessible science, “Mapping the Mysteries: Great Lake Careers” offers an engaging learning experience for viewers of all ages.
