The Science Behind Boating Safety Featured in New Into the Outdoors Episode ‘Decoding the Science of Boating Safety’ Airing on September 21st
Madison, WISCONSIN – (September 18, 2024) – Into the Outdoors, an Emmy award-winning kids edutainment series that leads in outdoor and science education both nationally and internationally, featured the science behind boating safety in their newest episode “Decoding the Science of Boating Safety” airing on September 21, 2024.
“Decoding the Science of Boating Safety” is brought to viewers by the partnership of the U.S. Coast Guard, the Future Angler Foundation, and the Into the Outdoors Education Network. Through effective messaging and the national influence of broadcast television–including ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX networks–this new episode aims to reach and educate American households on critical safety behaviors on the water.
Viewers are invited to join the outdoor adventure team as they decode the fun (and sometimes quirky) science that helps boaters stay safely afloat. With the help of Archimedes and Newton, boater safety certification candidates leading the adventure explore the concepts of buoyancy, gravity, calculating force, refraction, color theory, Newton’s Three Laws of Motion, Archimedes Principle, boater safety rules, and accident prevention.
Using this adventure team format, the science of physics and important tips and information surrounding boating safety are designed to engage today’s youth and adults in such critical topics. Together, the Into the Outdoors team and viewers nationwide embark on an exciting, educational adventure.
“By sharing this life-saving content to the general public, boating interest groups, and other educational outlets including the Future Angler Foundation’s Getting Families Fishing and Boating program has become a major source for boating safety information,” says Pat Neu, President of the Future Angler Foundation. “This program is an expanded win-win for boating safety education where we can all work as an extended network to aid in saving lives.”
Still to come this season, Into the Outdoors will be presenting an additional half-hour boating safety television show, viewable on select local broadcast stations during their weekend programming lineup.
